Children of all ages donned their most imaginative costumes to take part in the 18th annual “World’s Largest Indoor Trick or Treat” event on October 31st at the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota. Mall officials estimate that approximately 20,000 people were in attendance this year.
Ghosts and goblins were able to pick up a treat bag and trick or treat at over 100 stores. There was a costume contest at 4:30 p.m. and Halloween entertainment from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. in the Best Buy Rotunda.
Guests at the Mall of America with food allergies were invited to the allergy-free zone in the Sears Court for Mad Science fun. This event was open from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.
Spooky fun at Nickelodeon Universe after dark
Four nights of Blackout provided excitement for guests at Nickelodeon Universe. These after dark events were held on the 22nd, 23rd, 29th and 30th, with unlit rides, black lighting, fog and glow-in-the-dark bubbles. There was also live music, entertainment, a bubble dance party, costume contests and giveaways at the Blackout events.
If were unable to attend the 18th annual “World’s Largest Indoor Trick or Treat,” be watchful next fall for whatever the Mall of America decides to schedule for Halloween, 2011. If there is a 19th annual event, planners will be likely to have a trick or two up their sleeves, as well as some treats for next year’s turnout of costumed trick or treaters.
