Kids love Halloween! And let’s face it, most adults do too. If you are hosting a Halloween party that will include children, you’ll find that these Halloween craft ideas will be a fun way to keep the kids entertained. Set up a small table where the children can create their Halloween party crafts and allow them to take the finished product home as party favors.
We have several simple Halloween craft ideas, so let’s get started!
Spooky Ghost Lollipops
These adorable ghosts are not only cute Halloween craft ideas, they are also fun to hand out to Trick-or-Treaters on Halloween night.
Lollipops on a stick
White scrap material (cut into 4 x 4 squares)
Orange and black ribbon
Small block of Styrofoam
Have the children wrap a piece of white material (handkerchiefs can also be used) around a lollipop. Assist the children in cutting a piece of ribbon around the ‘neck’ of the ghost. Draw a face and you’re done! The ghost can be pushed inside a small block of Styrofoam to hold it in place.
Halloween treat holders
Kids love these treat holders almost as much as the candy inside. They can decorate them, fill them up, and reuse them over and over again.
Clear plastic cups
Craft paint pens or makers
Orange and black pipe cleaner
Assorted chocolate and hard candies
Single hole punch
Assist the children in punching a hole on both sides of the cup. String a pipe cleaner through the holes to make a handle, being careful to make a knot to prevent slipping. Then, allow the children to decorate their Halloween treat holder with craft paint pens or markers and Halloween stickers. Fill the container up with colorfully wrapped candies to complete.
Halloween garland –
These Halloween party crafts are not only great for kids, but as a homemade decoration too! If the children want to help decorate the party, let them make the garland and hang them up. Otherwise, they can take them home when finished.
Pre-cut Halloween Shapes (simple bat shapes, pumpkin shapes, witches hats, etc)
Craft pens or markers
Single hole punch
Have the children decorate the pre-cut shapes with craft pens or makers, glitter glue, and any other embellishments you would like to provide. Use a hole punch on both sides of each shape and string either ribbon or multiple pipe cleaners through for hanging purposes.
Pumpkin masks –
Chances are, you made these same Halloween party crafts when you were a kid. Remember the pumpkin masks, made of paper plates, that you had fun making in school? This is how you did it!
Craft sticks (popsicle sticks)
Allow each child to paint the underside of a paper plate orange. Sprinkle with glitter and allow to dry. Have an adult assist in cutting out eye and nose holes, and form a mouth. The children can decorate these Halloween party crafts with markers, stickers, or any other supplies you provide. Have the kids write their names on the white side of the paper plate and then glue a craft stick at the bottom of the paper plate.
