Halloween is that time of year when people who are into a bit of costume fun drag their bodies (pardon the pun) around the street and blocks of houses in search of the best candy available for a flash of a costume.
Halloween is celebrated around the world, but has been chiefly adopted as probably the next best thing to a birthday or Christmas in the good old USA. Celebrations can start in earnest in mid-September or even earlier for some enthusiasts.
In the UK is it slightly a more subdued celebration until closer to Halloween Night itself, although you may get a few cheeky little rascals knocking on a door about a week before looking for a bit of extra pocket money in with the words ‘Trick or Treat’, yes folks in the UK it is mainly all about the money, but over the past 5 – 10 years kids have been accepting candy, so all is not lost with a bag of chocolate and sweets on standby.
A Good Halloween Party
A Halloween Party is not complete without the party, so you are going to need to prepare your venue, be it at home or in a function room of sorts.
You will also find it best if you offer up your party as fancy dress, yes this is the socially accepted format of Halloween Party celebrations. The variations in costume ideas are limitless and if you are a craft type person you could benefit from your own imagination.
Taking a meander into your local fancy dress shop or local craft store, you will find an abundance of Halloween ideas, gifts and supplies. You can make your own awnings and bunting to decorate your party facilities.
Plan for adults only, kids only or a mixture of both.
A mixture of spray on cobwebs, cardboard cutouts and artwork of skeletons, witches and ghosts could adorn your walls, and don’t forget some green, orange and red fairy lights to add to a darkened room effect.
Your tables will look great with black, red, purple or green table coverings; these can be as cheap as paper coverings or a purchase of cloth from a reputable retailer.
Your guests are going to be hungry, there are hundreds of ideas for beverages and food that adopt the Halloween theme, it is worth searching out ‘Halloween Party Food Ideas’ with a Yahoo Search, or even here on Associated Content.
Ah good old Karaoke is still all the rage at parties everywhere, no different is the Halloween Party, you could set up your tracks to include a list of famous tracks such as ‘The Specials -Ghost Town’. You could hire a DJ for the night, even better if you know a DJ!
Some great Halloween tracks for either Karaoke or for the Stereo are found here: http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=472670
You are going to need to get some invitations together to hand out to your potential guests. You could either make your own and print them out or buy some from your local card store or even the Halloween Outlets that are dotted about in various towns and cities.
Make sure your invitations stand out, have some great entertainment and games available, advertise your Karaoke or Music, hype it up so your people see your party as the one to be at… just don’t send out too many or you may have a line of ghosts, zombies and supermen at the door waiting for admission.

Your drinks can be alcoholic for adults and juices for the kids, or if the adults prefer juice to then don’t leave them out. You can search out on Yahoo Search ‘Halloween Punch Recipes’ either for adults or kids. Or be creative and create your own.
It sounds like a lot of work, but if you are to have a successful Halloween Party then your hard work now will pay dividends.
Many people club together with their ideas, artwork, and may share the costs. The cost can be as little or a much as you want it to be… although your own creative personal touches can be just as good and unique.
Have a great Halloween, just remember if you are out doing a bit of ‘Trick or Treat’, that some members of our communities can be afraid, please be extra careful around elderly people and young children.
Enjoy your night and have fun.
