Step One is to find a unique or eye catching bottle. The bottle I used was intended to be used as a reed diffuser but I saw the sand art potential and choose that bottle. You will need to have something to close the bottle. I am using a cork but you can purchase a bottle with a different type of lid depending on what is available to you. You can also reuse a liquor bottle.
HELPFUL TIP: If you are reusing a bottle, soak it in hot soapy water to get the label off. Then use Goof Off to remove any adhesives, sticky parts or ink such as stamped dates or lot numbers.
Next thing you want to do is to get your Bath Salts. Here is the place where you can get your bath salts. You can request any scent available or a mix of scents and you can request which colors you want.

You will need a funnel that will fit the top of your bottle. Pour the bath salts into the bottle alternating colors to create layers. You can tilt the bottle to the side to create neat angles and shapes within the sand art.
Fill the bottle to the very top then put in your cork or cap, whichever you have that fits onto your bath salt sand art bottle. After you have capped it off you can get some pretty tissue papers and a gift bag or some other pretty presentation to give this away.
