For those who have not seen the newest addition to the series – Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 – you can still read this; I am not including any spoilers to the movie.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows Part 1 is a very good movie! The darkness of the movie blew my expectations out of the water! The minor changes made to make the movie differ from the book were good changes in my opinion, unlike the Prisoner of Azkaban where major changes had been made and made it hard to follow the story line of the movie. In my opinion, the only downside the Part 1 are the travel scenes. The travel scenes are the boring parts of the movie, but in a few of them, excitement builds up and releases.
I have seen all of the other Harry Potter movies in theaters, but this time was the best of all. Watching the movie in IMAX made my experience so much better! The better quality, crisper sound, and bigger screen brought me closer and more into the movie than I would have been had I watched Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 in the non-IMAX version.
I now have even higher expectations for Part 2 of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. The intensity of the action scenes in Part 1 show that the action scenes in Part 2 will be much more intense. Part 2 holds most of the action and intense scenes anyways. It is the climax and end of the book.
I would greatly recommend spending the extra money to see both parts in IMAX. IMAX makes this great movie even better, and with Part 2 already going to be better than Part 1, IMAX will make Part 2 absolutely amazing!
