Port Townsend, Wash. — Prepare to be scared! Hauntownsend ’10, featuring the “Carnival of the Twilight” scream attraction, returns in October. The Hauntownsend ’10 haunted house, which manifests itself at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds, offers new surprises, twists and turns this year. You will meet sinister looking ghosts and spirits throughout the tour of the haunted house. Are they there to scare you? Of course, but in a terrifyingly entertaining way!
Haunted House and More
The haunted house is professionally presented, complete with scary ghostly characters. The existence of these supernatural beings is based on the following premise, described in the introduction on Hauntownsend’s Website:
“In the early 1930’s, at the height of the Great Depression, when notorious criminals like John Dillinger and “Baby Face” Nelson ruled the city streets, a more sinister force was in place in the small town of Port Townsend, Washington. “Cabotini’s Traveling Carnival” came to town, on the off-chance of making some money with the thrills and chills of the ‘big tent’ acts and sideshow freaks, but got more than they bargained for when they became trapped in time by a gypsy’s curse. Only by solving the murders would they be free to move on….”
These spirits are played by some very convincing actors. Or, maybe, they really are ghosts, playing actors? You’ll have to decide for yourself.
