On Sept. 12, 2010, the city of Birmingham will present the Farmers Market Hay Day to celebrate the city’s agricultural heritage. This is an event for the whole family, and there will be activities for adults as well as children. The Birmingham Farmers Market is located on North Old Woodward, and the facility will be open every Sunday until Oct. 24, 2010 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Fruit and vegetable vendors are available during the Farmers Market operating hours to share and sell locally and regionally grown produce. Likewise, the Hay Day event at the Farmers Market will house a variety of exciting activities, such as an old-fashioned corn sheller, a sheep-shearing presentation and more interesting activities. Visitors of the Hay Day event can also have breakfast and lunch in addition to enjoying the live music.
