You’ve probably passed by the little gardening plot at 450 Laguna a million times without realizing that the big sunflowers and neat little rows of greens was Hayes Valley’s own Hayes Valley Farm. If you’ve always thought that you’d like to get involved and do a little gardening, Hayes Valley Farm is offering you the opportunity to volunteer your green thumb.
Volunteer hours are on Thursdays from 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Sundays from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. No reservations or sign-ups necessary. Just show up in comfortable clothes that you don’t mind getting a little dirty and extra gardening tools if you have them (they can provide tools if you don’t). You need no experience and all ages are welcome. It’s a great chance to learn a little bit about gardening and plant a few things with the neighbors.
