If you don’t have kids, you might not have been involved with one of the major projects the neighborhood has put together over the past two years. However, it doesn’t matter if you are a parent or not. There are several opportunities for residents in Hayes Valley to contribute artistically to the new park additions.
I tend to focus more on the eyesore down the corner. That places been abandoned for six years. Even though the hard working people at the Hayes Valley Neighborhood Association (HVNA) put in a good effort, according to their recent newsletter, they haven’t been able to make the kind of progress they wanted.
In the future, the HVNA is also working to finish to play areas, a plaza, and a fitness zone for residents. Two projects need artistic volunteers in the month of December. Contact Jen Isacoff at the Trust for Public Land (415) 800-5304 for questions or more information about the mosaic tile project. For gardening and planting project involvement please join the HVNA. Email Gail Baugh, g.baugh at sbcglobal dot net on how to join.
