2 cups whole wheat flour
½ cup melted butter or olive oil
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla
¾ cup brown sugar
3 mashed bananas
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt (optional)
½ cup chopped nuts
TOTAL CALORIES (2050) Divide total number of calories by how may slices you make if you want to know the calories in each slice.
If you use sweetener instead of sugar subtract 540 calories from the total.
First mash your bananas and then mix all other ingredients except nuts together in large bowl with large spoon or electric mixer. Fold in chopped nuts last.
Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
Prepare baking dish by either spraying with non stick spray or use oil or Crisco and smooth over entire inside of pan using either wax paper, a paper towel or your fingers. Whatever is handy! Next sprinkle inside of pan with flour and coat the entire inside.
Place mixed ingredients into prepared pan and bake until inside of nut bread is done approximately 1 hour. You can use a toothpick for this by poking the inside of the nut bread and if the toothpick comes out clean, then it is done.
