Recently Hillary Clinton reiterated that she has no plans to run for political office-such as for the White House in 2012-which would be an embarrassing challenge for her boss to contend with. However, friends say that Hillary is mulling ways to lead another country, perhaps one in Europe. She meet with her husband Bill Clinton over the weekend concerning the financial crisis in Ireland and whether or not they have enough in savings to buy the country.
The banking industry in Ireland is teetering on the edge of insolvency after disgruntled leprechauns made off with what one official described as, “several pots of gold.” Consequently, the entire country could be bought for about $20 million in upfront cash, something which the Clinton may have if they sell their home in Chappaqua New York. However, for a more reasonable $7 million one could simply buy Ireland’s bankrupt government and the presidency.
Hillary has repeatedly said that she would enjoy being Ireland’s president, at least for a couple years, and the global economic crisis may help her achieve this goal. Though before she becomes president she will need to whip up some popular support in Ireland, likely by kissing the Blarney stone a thousand times, and getting punch drunk in Irish pubs. In addition, several changes to the Irish Constitution will need to be made.
