My search for the perfect set of mini lights continues. I need them for the lighted table runners I’m making for family and friends this Christmas.
So far I have addressed the Christmas House Battery Pack Mini Light Set and the Energy Star LED Dome Lights. (Please see those separate reviews for information on those products.) This time around I will review the Holiday Style Mini Light Set in a 20 pack.
Like most Christmas lights of their kind, the Holiday Style Mini Light Set requires an AC connection. They are 120 volts, which is pretty standard for this kind of light set.
The 20 mini light pack I chose comes on a 7.5-foot cord. Bulbs produce an individual wattage rating of 2.5, although 3.0 bulbs will also work in this set. The lights promise a steady burning option as well as a flashing option. They deliver equally well as promised.
The bulbs in this light set are relatively cool to the touch, although they put off more heat than comparable LED mini lights do. Therefore, the very real possibility of fire still exists if the bulbs come in constant contact with flammable objects. These lights should never be left unattended when they are on as a safety precaution.
The bulbs of the Holiday Style Mini Light Set must be pushed in tightly and correctly positioned within their sockets in order for them to work and provide the promised amount of brightness. However, unlike many comparable strands, the Holiday Style Mini Light Set will continue to light even if one bulb burns out.
A flashing bulb is provided in each box, along with two other standard replacement bulbs. The flashing bulb can be placed into any of the strand’s sockets to switch on the flashing option. If additional replacement bulbs are required in the future for either the flashing or non-flashing otpion, they should be no higher than 3.0 wattage.
The Holiday Style Mini Light Set can be found at Dollar General and other select stores. I purchased my 20 bulb set at Dollar General for $1.50. The price is excellent considering the versatility provided by this product.
Strands come in various sizes including 20, 50, and 100 lights per set.
The Holiday Style Mini Light set is perfect for decorating at Christmas or any other time. They work beautifully on small trees, inside table arrangements and on wreaths. However, they are also good for decorative general lighting purposes. A word of caution; however, sine these lights are made strictly for indoor use and should never be used outside.
Here is my summary rating:
Versatility: 5 stars. I really like this product. The lights are sufficiently bright and colorful, in spite of their small size and low cost. They work well intertwined in garlands, for decorating stockings, for lining mantels and any myriad of other decorating purposes. They are small enough to work almost anywhere but they provide sufficient light to suit almost any need.
Size: 5 stars. While bulb size on the Holiday Style Mini Light Set does not change, the size of the light strand can. These lights come in 20, 50, 100 light strands. Those sizes are sufficient to meet almost any Christmas decorative need.
Brightness: 5 stars. The Holiday Style Mini Light Set is comparable to any other mini light strand on the market today.
Cost: 5 stars. The cost of The Holiday Style Mini Light Set varies depending upon the size of the strand chosen and the purchase location. The 20 light strand retails between $1.50 and $2. The 50 light strand retails for between $2.50 and $3. The 50 light strand retails for between $3.50 and $4. The 100 light strand retails for around $5.
Overall Rating: 5 stars. The Holiday Style Mini Light Set is a good product. In fact, they are just as good as any of the more expensive light strands available in the marketplace today.
