Home Schooling versus Christian and public schooling may be a decision you have been thinking of.
In this day and age a good education is more important than ever. All kinds of schools are available to our children, yet some parents debate over which type of school their child should attend.
There are questions of curriculum, morals, lack of control, and much more. Curriculum and peer pressure seem to be points that worry parents the most.
Home schooling is getting to be very popular to parents because they feel they can protect their children from some of the bad elements that are in public schools. Although this is true, there are some setbacks to home schooling. First and foremost is that the children don’t learn as many social skills, because they are not interacting with hundreds of other students.
Some people even say that if you home school your child, when they enter the real world, with hard decisions to make, they are lost. However more and more home schooling programs are trying to solve this problem. They now have opportunities for home schooled children to compete on basketball, football, and other related teams. This does give the children a chance to improve their social skills, and be able to fellowship with others.
Christian schools are another alternative to public schools, yet they usually cost quite a bit of money. Not all parents can afford to send their children to Christian schools, so they either send them to public school or home school them.
Christian schools teach a good curriculum and have sports and social functions for the children to enter , so this might be an option you would like to consider, if you are financially able.
Public schools can be great, however some are not so great. When sending your child to public school it is important to know school board members and the principal of the school. If your research shows these people to have the schools best interest at heart, then your children will probably excel in this school.
The problem more prevalent in public schools is that the children have more access to outside elements, such as drugs, cigarettes and other things.
The main thing to work toward for your children is to be sure they get the best education you can give them, with the least amount of stress and outside influence. There is a definite trade-off in homeschooling versus Christian or public schooling, but that is a decision that must be made from the head and the heart.
