The most important thing there is if you want to succeed with something is MOTIVATION. For most of you that was not a secret. But to some, that may be something new. Keeping you motivation up will help you no matter what you are trying to achieve. If you are motivated to do something then you will feel pumped and exited to do it. If you are happy about doing something then even the toughest of tasks will be easily done. But keeping the motivation up is easier said than done, I know because I’ve had that problem a few years back. It didn’t matter if it was schoolwork or training I used to start off really strong and after a while I would quit as soon as it got hard. I was so angry at myself because I gave up with everything. I tried to remember what I wanted to achieve and why. But then a friend of mine gave me a great tip: Write it down!
At first I just laughed at him and told him that it was a stupid idea that I would never try. Now I’ve apologized to him and I’m actually using that very same tip today, and it is working great. And I would really recommend it if you have problems keeping your motivation. You could just write down your goals on a piece of paper and put it in your wallet. I have my own variation of this. I prefer to write it on a computer then print it up, frame it and put it on a wall. The best place to put it is on a wall where you can see it very well, or a wall where you walk by very often. These are just some of the ways I use to keep my motivation up.
But it might be hard to know what to write down. It doesn’t really matter if you want build muscles, lose weight, study or whatever you might want to succeed with. It’s always good to write down both your long term goals and goals that you are planning on achieving in a very near future. We will use weight loss as an example: I want to lose 20 lbs overall, and in the next week I will lose 2 lbs. I hope you understand what I mean by major goals and smaller goals. It’s in my opinion a very effective way to remain motivated. The small goals are probably the most important ones, since you will get an energy kick if you complete one goal. And since can have as many small goals as you want on the way to your main goal.
I hope you will get some ideas on how to keep your motivation up. Of course there are a lot more different ways to keep the motivation. This is just the one that has worked the best and helped me the most.
