The most obvious thing that you can grab from infrared heater efficiency is a lower electric bill. However, how does infrared heater efficiency apply when you are talking about which one can heat up the room quicker?
That is a trick question. That is because there are many different factors to consider when you are trying to see if an infrared heater will heat up your room quicker. Infrared heaters work much differently than conventional electric heaters. A conventional electric heater will grab air and heat it up. In many cases, you will feel the hot air surround you after a few minutes or less, but if you move you may notice that the area of warm temperature has a cutoff point. That means you have to stay near the conventional electric heater to keep warm.
An infrared heater works like the sun which is not always better. Have you ever felt the cold air biting your skin when the Sun is out? This is exactly what can happen with an infrared heater. The radiation has a hard time heating air directly. Most of the heat generated is on whatever the light is reflecting off of. A better solution to use with an infrared heater is to keep it stationary with a wide area under its rays. That allows constant penetration on the surface area of a large room. This will eventually heat the entire room which could also spread heat into the next room. The only downside of this type of infrared heater efficiency is that it may time up to an hour to fully heat larger rooms.
