You may think that you need to face the day and see what it holds before you can answer that question. If that is your response, then you will let your environment determine your day.
True vitality comes from learning to let your inner focus and heart determine your happiness regardless of your circumstances. If you do not create your own happiness, you will be tossed like the wind by every change of circumstance or attitude that comes your way.
You can make a decision right now to be happy. You only have two choices today: be happy or unhappy. Why not choose happiness and enjoy all that this day holds for you including the rewards and the challenges?
Abraham Lincoln said correctly, “Most folks are about as happy as they make up their minds to be.” It sometimes seems a lot easier to be unhappy, but you can just as easily choose happiness. It is something that you have to make a cognizant decision to do day by day, hour by hour, often minute by minute.
As you decide to choose happiness it will eventually become a habit. Gradually, you may find that even on your gloomiest, darkest days that your mind is locked on inner peace and contentment which allows you to be happy despite your circumstances.
To cultivate happiness, look at your heart and the world with fresh eyes. Determine to see things a different way. See the good, find the beauty, behold the profound in the profoundly simple things in life. It is something you can do, and in developing this mindset you will create a happier mindset. A happier mind equals a happier outlook and a happier life.
Drive away the thoughts that depress and discourage you. Think on things that are good, true, and right. Put a stop to the unhappy, unhealthy thoughts that drain life and happiness from you. Take control of your mind filling it with good thoughts, healing thoughts, and thoughts of a bright future.
Tell yourself that this is going to be a good day, a happy day and don’t allow the first negative incident or comment to discourage you. Repeat happy mantras to yourself. You can do it, and it will make a difference.
Your thoughts and attitudes will become the filter through which you view circumstances, allowing you to look on the bright side of life. Anyone who chooses to live this way can become a happier person.
