The University of Alabama offers baccalaureate degrees in many disciplines in liberal arts, life sciences, engineering, nursing and business. The University of Alabama has a student body of about 22,000 full time undergraduate students that most of which live on campus or near campus. Financial aid is available based on need.
Make sure you have the prerequisites.
Meet all the minimum prerequisites for admissions prior to sending in an application. As like many universities, University of Alabama requires 4 credits of English, 3 credits of math, 3 credits of natural science, 4 credits of social sciences, 1 credit of foreign language and 5 credits of other course work. Half of the SAT scores for incoming freshman last year was between 1000 and 1220 excluding the writing exam portion of the new SATs. The composite ACT score of applicant ranges from 21 to 28. Approximately 50% of the incoming freshman had a high school GPA of 3.5 or higher. If your SAT scores, ACT scores and GPA compete with other applicants then you can prepare your application.
Decide if you want to apply for priority or regular admission.
The University of Alabama admissions committee offers the ability to apply early for priority admissions. If your application is accepted, you are not obligated to commit to the University of Alabama the next fall. If University of Alabama is your top school, this method will give you the best chance of admission into the program of your choice. Applications for priority admissions must be submitted by February 1st. After the priority admissions period ends, applications are reviewed on a rolling basis until the freshman class is filled.

The University of Alabama application has several components including an application, $40 application fee, high school transcripts, SAT scores or ACT scores. It is preferred that you submit your application online but you have the option to submit through regular mail.
