If you are using phpWCMS to create your site, this tutorial will show you how to create file directories. You will need file directories in order to upload documents and images to your phpWCMS site. You can begin using this tutorial by logging in to the admin panel of phpWCMS.
Opening Your File Menu in phpWCMS
After you have logged in, you will need to open your file menu. At the top of your admin panel, you will see the File link. Find this link and click it. That will load the section where you can create your file directories.
Creating Your File Directories in phpWCMS
Now you are ready to create your first file directory in phpWCMS. Click the Public Files tab in this section. Then click the Create New Dir link. A box will then appear and this is where you will enter your information to create the directory. Let’s take a look at these fields.
Name – This is where you enter the name of the file directory you are creating.
Long Info – In this field, you can enter a description for the file directory if you want too.
Gallery – You can place the file directory in the root directory or the subroot directory. Click this box and select your option.
Status – If you want the file directory to be active, check this box. If you want the public to be able to view it, check the public box.
When you are ready to create your new file directory, click the Create button at the bottom of the box. The box will close and you will see the new directory you just created. You can click the Create New Dir button again to create another file directory. You can have as many file directories as you want.
If you need help with creating sub-file directories and managing your file directories, please see my other tutorials. They will walk you through using the phpWCMS software.
