If you have just installed the TikiWiki CMS, you are probably looking for a way to edit your homepage. In this tutorial, I am going to walk you through the steps of editing your homepage. Your first step is to login to your admin panel. Then you will need to click the Wiki Home link on the left side of your page. Then we will get started.
After you click the Wiki Home page, you will see some text telling you how to get started in the different sections. Let’s begin with the top part of the home page where it says, “Home Page.” On the right side, beside Home Page, you will see an icon that looks like a sheet of paper with a pencil. Click that icon to load the page that will allow you to create your home page.
On the following page, you are going to see a lot of options. The first thing you will want to do is delete all of the stuff in the body of the message. Then you can type what you want to be displayed on the home page in this field.
If you want to use images, you will need to use the image icon in the toolbar. Once that box opens, you will need to get the image you want to use and insert it into the page. Make sure you place your mouse where you want the image to go.
To change the text options, you will first need to highlight the text that you want to edit. Then you will need to use the text tools in the toolbar to make your changes. All of the text does not have to be the same. You can create headers and sub-headers with different size text and fonts.
Before you post your new home page, you can see a preview of it. At the bottom of the page, you will see the Preview button. Click it and the page will reload. You will then see the preview of the home page at the top of the page. Below that will be your editing tools. If the page is like you want it, click the Save button and it will be added to your profile. If it is not, continue editing and preview it again.
