Ever since I was a kid, I’ve gotten these bumps on my arms. I had no idea what they were and no idea how to get rid of them. They looked like teeny tiny pimples that could be popped. It just so happened that one day I was watching Dr. Oz’s show on television and one of the audience members asked what the bumps on her arms were (they are back logged hairs). She also wanted to know how to get rid of them. Dr. Oz then showed a slide show of the bumps she was talking about. They looked exactly like mine. His answers proved to work. Here are some ways to get rid of bumps on your arms.
Exfoliating your arms with a grainy body wash can help to get rid of unsightly blemishes. Dr. Oz said it was important not to scrub too aggressively. Doing so, can cause the skin to become irritated and heal improperly. If you are seeking a more natural way of exfoliating try using sugar.
Use Salicylic Acid
Another one of Dr. Oz’s methods to get rid of arm bumps was to use a facial cleanser with salicylic acid. I purchased a Neutrogena face wash and began to use it on my arms. Sure enough the bumps began to go away. It is important not to overuse products with salicylic acid because they can dry out the skin too much. If your skin is dry its harder to get rid of the bumps.
I noticed that the bumps on my arms would get worse during the winter months. This is because our skin tends to be more dry when the weather is cold. During the summer months my skin was so moisturized that the bumps would just disappear. Rid yourself of bumpy arms by putting lotion on every day.
Do Not Pop Them!
It is frustrating to have bumpy arms. They can sometimes become inflamed and you might feel self conscious wearing sleeve less shirts. Do not get rid of them by popping them. All you’ll be left with are unsightly scars that take even longer to heal and disappear.
