Cook off parties are a fun and delicious way to celebrate with your friends. Whether you are throwing a birthday party, or just entertaining guests for the evening, a cook off party is the way to go. This is my guide for a buffalo wing cook party, but you can use the basic steps to throw your own cook off party. There are many cook off party ideas out there so don’t hesitate to get creative!
If you and your friends love buffalo wings, a cook off is the best way to share buffalo wing recipes and have a great evening of fun together. With just a little preparation you can host the event of the year and all your friends can show off their buffalo wing cooking skills.
You can do this using an e-mail service such as Evite or you can send paper invitations in the mail. Be sure to list the date, time, directions, and add a little note to let your friends know that they are expected to cook up a batch of their favorite buffalo wings and bring them to the party. There will be a prize for the winner to be determined by a secret group vote.
Refreshments and Snacks
Buffalo wings can be super spicy so be sure to have some cold beverages on hand. Beer goes well with buffalo wings and also have some cold water and sodas on hand for those not drinking beer. Bake up a batch of french fries, onion rings, or other foods you find on a bar menu. Be sure to have both ranch dressing and blue cheese dressing on hand for dipping the wings. Carrot and celery sticks as well as cheese cubes are great to have sitting out for your guests as well.
When your guests arrive, place their wings in a warm oven set to 200 degrees to keep them warm. As you accept them place a post it note with a number on the plate. On a piece of paper for your eyes only write the name of the guest who brought the wings and the number of the plate. When it is time to start tasting, set out all the wings with their numbers and allow the tasting to begin.
There will be a winner of your buffalo wing cook off so you will need to have ballots for the voting. You can do something as simple as small pieces of paper for your guests to write the number of their favorite buffalo wings, or you can make an elaborate ballot using Photoshop or paper crafting.
Collect all the ballots and determine the winner. Be sure to buy a small, yet fun gift for the winner of your buffalo wing cook off. You may also decide to give gifts to the 2nd and 3rd place winners as well.
Have fun at your buffalo wing cook off party!
