One of the best parts of carving pumpkins is roasting the pumpkin seeds for a tasty snack. They are easy to make and healthy for you as well. With a few simple ingredients, you can make a salty or slightly sweet pumpkin seeds that everyone at home will enjoy.
2 Baking sheets
2 Containers with lids
Set out your two containers. In one container, sprinkle in garlic and seasoning salt. Make sure that there is enough to cover the bottom of the container. Flavor it to taste. Each person likes their more salty or garlicy, so flavor yours however you like.
In the other container, pour in sugar and cinnamon. Most commonly, it is 1 tablespoon to every half cup sugar. Make sure you flavor yours the way that you like it.
Remove all the excess orange pumpkin guts from the seeds that you took from the pumpkin. Don’t completely rinse them off as you still want them to have pumpkin slime on them to retain some pumpkin flavor. Separate your pumpkin seeds into the two containers and place the lids on them. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Shake your containers vigorously so that your pumpkin seeds are completely coated in the mixtures. If you have kids, this is a great time to get them involved.
Once your seeds have been completely coated, place them on the trays. One flavor per tray. Place the trays in the oven, one at a time. Bake at 350 degrees. Check them in ten minutes. You only want them to be toasted, not burned or too dark. Don’t let them go over 15 minutes in the oven!
