Sometimes decorating for a Halloween party can be an expensive process. Thankfully there are a number of spook-tacular Halloween decorations that you can make at home with the aid of your little ghouls and goblins.
These can range from Styrofoam spiders, candy filled party favors, placemats and ghastly, glowing ghosts suspended from the ceiling.
What follows is an easy and inexpensive craft project that once completed will give you a room full of flying, ghastly, glowing ghosts that kids of all ages are sure to enjoy.
To make the ghastly glowing ghosts you will need to assemble together the following items;
• Ping pong balls
• Sharp exactor blade
• Black permanent markers (assorted tip sizes)
• White linen remnants
• Hot glue gun and glue sticks
• Flameless tea light or votive candles
• Tape Measure
• Nylon fishing line
Begin to make your ghastly, glowing ghosts by taking your white linen remnants and cutting out a square big enough to wrap around the base of the flameless candle.
Once you have the desired width, cut the remnant and use your hot glue gun to glue it to the base of the flameless candle. This is going to serve as the body of your ghastly glowing ghost.
Next take out your exactor blade and cut a small x on the seam of the ping pong ball. Proceed by taking the flameless candle and sticking the wick up inside the ping pong ball through the x slit you made in the seam. The ping pong ball will serve as the ghastly glowing ghost’s head.
Afterward, take your black, permanent marker and draw a pair of eyes and a mouth onto the ping pong ball to represent the ghastly glowing ghost’s facial features.
Finally, cut and then tie a piece of nylon fishing line around the ghastly glowing ghost’s neck so that you can suspend it from the ceiling or elsewhere within your home.
When you are ready turn the flameless candle on and it will make your crafty creation come to life!
