Everyone loves cake, but we are not all very skilled at decorating them. With this easy recipe, you can have a cake to be proud of to take to your Irish get-together. This is so easy you will wonder why you didn’t decorate your cakes like this much sooner.
Things You’ll Need:
* 8 oz white chocolate for baking. Broken into small pieces
* 3/4 cup heavy whipping cream
* 2 tbs unsalted butter
* 1 tbs Bailey’s Irish cream or to taste
Put chocolate pieces in a bowl. Metal is preferred because the cream will get hot. Make sure that the bowl can withstand high temperatures.
In a sauce pot, scald the cream and the butter together. Do not burn it! You just want to heat it until it starts to bubble around the edges of the pot.
Pour your cream and butter mixture over the chocolate. Stir until the chocolate melts and it becomes thick.
Once your chocolate is melted and your ganache starts to thicken, add the Bailey’s Irish Cream. Flavor to taste. Once it is done, you can cover a cake with it or you can use it as a filling for cakes, cupcakes, or even candy.
*If Irish Cream isn’t your thing, you can flavor with anything.
*The cream will get VERY hot! Be careful when pouring as you can easily burn yourself.
*If you are going to cover a cake with your fresh ganache, wait until it is partly cooled. Use a knife to spread some on the cake to fill in the holes. Put a cooling screen under the cake on top of a sheet tray so you can dump the ganache back into the bowl and reuse at a later date.
