Tea is a popular drink during the cool fall and winter months, but during the warmer seasons tea bags tend to sit in the pantry. Instead of letting them expire or lose their flavor, use them to make flavored teas for the summer months. It’s really fun to mix and match several flavors of tea bags together to create your own flavored tea concoctions. This is even a good treat for those who drink iced tea during the winter.
Get the Right Equipment
If you don’t have an iced tea maker, go out and purchase one. You can find ice tea makers at a low cost at most supercenter stores. They typically cost even less in the winter months when they are not in demand.
Choose Unique Tea Combinations
Get out your flavored tea and place four bags into the iced tea maker. You can select four bags of the same flavor, but better tasting flavored teas come from using tea bags with various flavors to create a completely new flavor. You do not have to use expensive tea in order to produce delicious results. You will find tea that is discounted in various retail stores tastes just as good as expensive teas. In fact, these may be a better option for experimentation since you won’t be disappointed if you create a disappointing flavor. However, don’t be afraid to use flavored teas that you usually don’t like. When mixed with other flavors you may find they are actually very tasty.
Brew the Tea
Once you have the tea bags picked out, fill the iced tea maker with the recommended amounts of water and ice, then turn it on. Allow the tea maker to run until the light turns off and the flavored tea is done.
Add the desired amount of sugar or artificial sweetener to the tea if desired. Otherwise, you are ready for a taste test. Write down the combinations of flavored teas that you like so that you can make them again. Also write down the combinations that you don’t like so that you won’t repeat them.
