What You Will Need
Reynolds Oven Roasting Bag (turkey size)
1 Tablespoon Flour
Preheat oven to 350 degrees, then take your oven bag and place 1 tablespoon flour in oven bag. Shake flour around in bag. Rinse your turkey thoroughly ,patting to dry with paper towels. Make sure to remove neck and giblets. Don’t forget to save the neck and giblets to make your gravy later. Next place the Reynolds roasting bag in your roasting pan. Rub turkey all over with vegetable oil. Place turkey, breast side up in roasting bag. Tie bag loosely with nylon tie, (included )with Reynolds oven roasting bag. Cut 5 – 6 1/2 inch slits on top of roasting bag. Place a meat thermometer through bag into the thickest part of the thigh.
Your Turkey is now ready for the oven
Bake your turkey at 350 degrees for an average of 3 – 4 hours. Your meat thermometer should read 180 degrees. If stuffing your turkey, make sure to add an extra 1/2 hour. You always want to make sure your turkey is thoroughly cooked. You never want to eat a raw turkey. A meat thermometer is a great cooking utensil to have. Cooking a turkey thoroughly and all the way through is the best way to avoid salmonella food poisoning. This is why it’s so important to make sure, your meat thermometer reads 180 degrees Fahrenheit. When your turkey is ready to come out of the oven, let it stand for at-least 15 minutes inside the bag. This will allow the turkey to slice very easily.
