You may have a reason for wanting to keep one of your blog posts always showing at the top on your home page. It could be that you want to feature something about you, display products or services you are promoting or there may be a special message you want your readers to view before they move onto other blog posts on the site.
There was a time when the only way to keep a specific post at the top of the page was to change the date on the post and republish it every time you added another post. This ensured the new post, dated at an earlier entry would not take over top position. The folks at WordPress took care of this inconvenience with the newer versions of WP by adding the “sticky” feature in the visibility options for publishing.
According to the bIogging experts, it’s really quite simple to do. After you have written your post and you are ready to publish it, look over to the upper right hand side of the page, under the “Publish” header. Where it says “Visibility” you will see an “Edit” link. Click on this link.
A drop down menu appears. Under the word “Public” you will see a check box beside the phrase “Stick this post to the front page.” Click on the box to check it. Now this post will always appear at the top of your blog.
