A lighting truss is a stable structure that allows stage hands to hang lights from it. Regardless if the venue is a small theater, mid-sized club or enormous concert venue, a truss will be used somewhere above the stage. The following items are needed in order to complete this project:
Four ceiling hanging units
100 feet of chain
1 1/2″ x 16′ steel pipe
Confirm the sturdiness of the ceiling’s hang points. Test the hang point using sandbags. Use a stud finder to install eyehooks and locate ceiling joists. Carefully drill four holes and use 4-foot intervals. Put in the eyehooks. Connect chain to the steel pipe. Attach it tightly at both ends. Raise the ends of the pipe by the chain. Do the same using two more chains. Bind the chains at four-foot intervals. Do this alongside the pipe. Fasten with two carabiners. Lift the ends of the pipe at the same time, using the ladders. Do the action again until the truss is level. Hang the lights up to the truss.
