If you are using the Shoutbox option in TikiWiki, this tutorial will help you with managing your messages. In this tutorial, I will show you how to edit your messages in the shoutbox, delete messages from your shoutbox, and quickly find messages in your shoutbox. To get started with this shoutbox tutorial, you will need to load your site and login to the admin panel of TikiWiki.
Loading Your Shoutbox Page
You will need to load your shoutbox page. To do this, click the Shoutbox link in the left panel. This link may be somewhere else on your page depending on the theme you are using in TikiWiki. Once you click the link, you will see the shoutbox load. Below the message box, you will see all of the messages you have created for the shoutbox.
Deleting Messages in Your TikiWiki Shoutbox
Let’s start with deleting messages. If you have messages in your shoutbox that you no longer want to be in there, you can delete them. You will first need to find the message on the shoutbox page that you want to delete. Then you will need to look to the far right and find the X icon in the panel. Click that icon and the message will be deleted.
Editing Messages in Your TikiWiki Shoutbox
If you need to edit messages that you have already posted, follow these steps. On the shoutbox page, you will need to find the message you want to edit. When you find the message, click the paper and pencil icon to the right of it. When the page reloads, edit the message and then save it. If you need to edit other messages, repeat the steps above.
Finding Shoutbox Messages Quickly in TikiWiki
If you have a ton of messages in the shoutbox and don’t want to scroll through all of them, you can use the find box to find the one you are looking for. The find box is right below the message box on the shoutbox page. In this box, type part of the message. Then click Find. The messages will then load below the find box that have something to do with the phrase you typed in the find box. From there, you can do what you need to with your shoutbox message.
