If you’re looking for a used car and need to find a good one a few helpful tips will get you a good car for your money. I’ve brought cars from auctions and from personal owners in the past. There are some things to check for when searching for a good car. Are there any leaks in the car, does the AC and heat work, does the car look like it has been kept up, is there high mileage, and does the car need any major work. Before buying a used car I would suggest making a list of all the things that are important by priority when buying a used car. Making a list will help you remember what to ask about and whether it has what you’re looking for.
Pick Five Cars and Research
You don’t have to be an expert in cars to find a good one. Doing research will help determine whether the nice looking car in the picture you saw is worth your money and worth a hassle if anything goes wrong with it. You can research the internet to find common repairs on the cars you chose and if it will cost a lot of money to get fixed. Sometimes a car may look nice but could be expensive to repair. It’s a good idea to pick three to five cars that you are interested in buying and look up the Kelly Blue Book price on the cars that you want to buy. Some used cars may be priced higher than the Blue Book value because used cars are in demand these days. Keep in mind if you’re buying a luxury car it will cost hundreds of dollars if something goes wrong. Again researching common repairs would give you an idea on good cars to buy.
Test Drive It
Taking the car for a quick spin allows you the opportunity to test the brakes and listen to the sound of the car. If it has a loud sound when starting up it could be a sign that you’ll have to make repairs very soon. You can check to see if the engine light comes on or if it has an overheating problem. Check to see if the car is rattling or if the car starts right up and if it drives okay. Bring your check list and see if it meets your requirements. Does the car have antifreeze? Check the tires to see if they’re good, the windshield wipers and fluid to see if it works and make sure the car is clean. Ask the previous owner what recent repairs have gotten fixed and when was the last time the car had an oil change or tune-up. A good used car can be found for a great deal as long as you’ve done your research.
