Once you realize that you want to know the area where you live and learn about it just try to see everything through the eye of a tourist, you want to plan your “at home vacation” and never regret it! Check a local map and learn about the attraction areas and what people do when they come visit your city. A good opportunity is to do that when you get some family visiting from out of town! Know how many days you have to spend on your “at home” vacation plan accordingly.
Create a route for each day you want to visit certain attractions. Take your time to stop in interesting places you never ate at before. Make sure you know the schedule of the attraction you want to visit and the cost. Spice up the things you are doing with some variety; if one day is going snow tubing, make sure you have some spicy, hot meal that day and spend the night with a long booble bath! If the next day is visiting a cave, then spend a great deal of the day outdoor too, enjoying the sunshine and the scenery’s.
Make sure you get pictures everywhere you go; treat that as if it was not your hometown, later you will be surprise to look at those pictures and know that they were taken in you area where you live or you once lived! Enjoy some festive dinners and have a bottle of selective wine to relax at night. Watch a movie with more friends and family and have a lot of laughs!
Dine out at least once, where you can listen to some favorite music and there is some dancing going on too. Record a message on your house phone and declare that you are not available for a short time, while on vacation. Reassure yourself everyday by Saying to yourself that you are on Vacation and you will relax; this will have a positive impact on you and how you will be able to let the stress go. Spend a day home where you can just sit around the fire place and talk with your family.
Once you experienced this event, you will be willing to take more “at home vacations”* to reconnect with immediate family and relax. You will feel very re-energized to go back to your business or work place and you will have real stories to tell; share your pictures with your extended family and friends so they will discover the beauty of the “around home area.”
* This is not by any means a promotion for “at home vacations” – while I am in the business to serve the tourism, if necessary and stress is too high of a risk in your life, this will be good for your health.
