Wedding sizing is different from regular size charts. So you will need to look at the measurements when you decide to buy your dress, which can be a pain if you are doing it from home. First, only dress in the undergarments that you want to wear with your dress, or if you cannot do that wear a nice fitted bra and underwear.
Your bust is not your bra size! Wear a good bra, or the undergarment you plan on wearing, to take this measurement. Take the tape around your back and bring it across the fullest part of your bust (across your nipples) Arms should be down at your sides.
The smallest part of your waist, normally an inch or so above your belly button. If you lean to the side, where the indent is, is the “natural waistline”. Take the tape all the way around to measure.
The widest part of your lower body, across the hipbone. Take the tape all the way around about 7 inches below the waistline.
Hollow to Hem
Wear the heels you will wear with your wedding dress! Take the tape and begin at the hollow of your neck and measure down to where you want the dress to end. And if you want a fuller skirt, measure out at an angle to allow for the full dress.
This measurement is only needed for a dress with sleeves. Measure around the largest part of your upper arm.
Also only needed for a dress with sleeves. Begin the measuring tape from your armpit along you straight arm to your wrist.
Remember it is better to round the number’s up and have it a little big. Taking the dress in is way easier than taking them out.
