Signs of bed bugs –
Bed bugs are flat brown bugs that are very small in size. It is very unlikely that you will see them, but in the off chance that you HAVE seen this type of insect in your home…it is one easy way to tell if you have bed bugs.
Unexplained bites – Let’s get on with it. How do you tell if you have bed bugs? Most people never consider the possibility that bed bugs can be in their home, and don’t know something is amiss until they experience unexplained bites on their skin. Some people have no reaction to bed bug bites while others become extremely itchy and scratch the skin until it bleeds. If you suspect you have bed bug bites, DO NOT SCRATCH your skin! This will only make it worse.
Waste matter – Yes, this is disgusting, but….signs of bed bugs include waste matter on your bedding. Say it with me…ewwwwwww! Waste materials will consist of brown streaks, dark spots, shed skin, or even tiny dead bugs. Considering how small bed bugs are in size, they leave an enormous amount of waste material behind. Most people will see the waste without realizing what it is. It will show up on bed sheets, mattresses, pillows, between the mattress and box springs, and other surfaces that allow the bed bugs to hide
Where to find bed begs that are hiding –
It is a common misconception that bed bugs only live in mattresses. This is NOT the case! Bed bugs can live in carpets, clothing, suitcases, behind wallpaper, inside window casings, inside baseboards, in sofa cushions, and many other places. To find bed bugs, extend your search to these areas.
How did I get bed bugs?
If you keep a clean home, you are likely baffled if you have discovered that bed bugs can still be living among you. Signs of bed bugs are NOT a sign of a dirty home!!!! Bed bugs enter the home on clothing, blankets, suitcases, and so on. If you’ve been on a trip and stayed in a hotel or a friend’s house, and THEY had bed bugs, you will likely bring them home with you. Moreover, if you have someone come stay in your home, and they have bed bugs where they live, those little buggers can travel with your guest and make a new home with you.
If you suspect you may have bed bugs in your home, contact a professional exterminator to get rid of them for good. They won’t go away on their own!
