Parties are so much fun to go to and plan (if you do it right). It’s a great way to hang out with a bunch of people you know and have a really good time. You want to make sure you have the best part possible, of course, so follow these tips to make sure it’s up to standards.
The Right Food
What type of food should you have at a party? The classic bowl of M&Ms or something else? When it comes to the foods you should have, it’s mostly the same for all age groups. Have a good selection of healthier foods like fruits and vegetables, and make some smoothies. As well as some healthy food, you can have a few choices that are a little sweeter like pop and a few bowls of candies (don’t forget cookies!).
The Perfect Playlist
Sometimes this can be one of the hardest parts of planning a party. What type of music does everyone like? When I pick out the playlists, I usually try to go for things that are a little more upbeat. Listen to some local radio stations and hear what they are playing. If you are still having trouble or don’t have enough time to listen through every song on the radio, go to iTunes. iTunes has the list of the top downloads. Find some songs on there that you think are catchy.
You don’t have to go full-out ten year old birthday party decorations, but if you’re feeling up for it, dangle a few streamers over a doorway. Add some cool lighting if your budget is up for it. There are a lot of cool things that you can do for decorations, and they don’t all have to scream “party.” Decorations that go according to the season do well too, plus you can use them more than once.
Champagne is always popular, and never really seems to go out of fashion. If you can’t afford it, just serve beer and a favorite cocktail instead.
Remember, don’t fret if the party doesn’t go accordingly! You don’t want to over plan, otherwise your expectations will be too high, and if things don’t go exactly the way they should, it’ll get chaotic. The best thing to do is go with the flow, and don’t let it bother you if it doesn’t go perfectly. Enjoy the party!
