Moms who work often have very busy days, and a lot of stress. Moms often stress because they do not know how in the world they are going to be able to get everything done before the day come to an end. After being at work for 8 hours or more, and coming home to start work all over again, it can be overwhelming. Many moms feel as if they work multiple jobs instead of just one. The truth is that if moms divided up the work load, they may in fact be able to lower their stress. Below are several ways that you can go about lowering the work load.
Make a chart
Sit down with your family, and make up a chart that will show, who has to do what and when. Divide up the chores based on each person’s ability. This would include your husband. You can alternate days that you do dishes, and the laundry. If your kids are old enough you can have them do their own laundry. If you choose to do this I would recommend that you take a few weeks to train them how to properly wash their laundry first.
Preparation is half the battle
You can also lower your stress level by ensuring that necessary items get done. One of the biggest dilemmas that moms face during the day is getting dinner ready. There is often a mad dash to fix dinner as soon as mom gets home. This means that the family will probably won’t be eating dinner until late in the evening. Why not consider making larger bulk meals that will last a couple of days. Some parents like to use the weekends as a time to do a cooking for the week. Once a week cooking, is a great time saving. You can make a dish like lasagna, and place an extra pan in the freezer. Frozen meals can easily be warmed up, and you will have more time to focus on something else. A crock pot is also a good option. You can have your food cooking during the day, and when you arrive home there will be a great meal waiting for you. You can also have all of your veggies chopped and cut so all you have to do is open up the bag
Get the important stuff done first
It’s important to remember that not everything needs to be done in a day. There are some major things that need to be cleaned daily, like the bathroom and the kitchen. Other things such as dusting can easily be put off until the weekend. Try not to sweat the small stuff. The little odds and ends that you can not get done don’t really matter. Stressing over them will not get them done anyway so why bother getting upset about it.
