With Halloween quickly approaching I thought it would be fun to find some real life haunted buildings in the city of Birmingham, Michigan. I actually spent a few hours searching for these haunted structures and there is a website called the Shadowlands.net that claims the Adams house and the Birmingham Theater are haunted with paranormal activity. Could there really be a haunted house and theater in Birmingham?
Every website referring to the Adams House seems to state the exact same, vague information, which is that the house was built in 1920, Margaret Parks of Parks Cole Company in downtown Birmingham lived there and neighboring residents have seen curtains moving, heard strange noises and have seen what appears to be someone looking out of the windows. The problem is that I can’t find any other information, like do the residents believe that Margaret Parks is the one haunting the house, how did she die or did someone else die in the house? Apparently there is no story or legend behind these strange occurrences and no documented investigations in search of the truth about the Adams house.
The Birmingham Theater is an historical building in downtown Birmingham so I though it would be easy to find a spooky story behind the paranormal activity but all I really got is that a worker claimed that 2 piles of popcorn moved, something about lights flickering behind a locked door, strange sounds and cold air blowing. This all occurred in 2001 as reported by the Shadowlands.net.
I was looking for documented proof, historical evidence, or legends that would help to back up these claims that the Adams House and the Birmingham Theater are haunted and I could not find any so to me they just seem like rumors that made it to the web and these buildings are not really haunted.
