I had a great time talking with different people about hunting videos in the form of games. Most of them are died-in-the-wool hunters who use video hunting games as practice for the hunt of a lifetime, or to fill in time when no game is in season that they want to hunt.
I was indoctrinated in the respect for weapons philosophy, and consideration of life in that one only killed for food. I believed my father and mother so seriously that my older sister had to tell them to advise me that roaches, flies, and spiders did not fall in the same category. Years later, however, I still feel guilty about killing those pests. This is why I am so glad that incredible hunting games were designed for Wii and other platforms. No matter what, every being will rise again, wiser, and more skilled.
Cabelas Dangerous Hunts 2011 Game
Mighty big-game hunter, you’ve got your work cut out for you. Released Oct 26, 2010, Cabelas Dangerous Hunts 2011 Teen rated (blood and violence) Wii simulator hunting game drew your name to save the villagers across the Ugandan wilderness. At last count, fourteen vicious game animals are raising havoc, ripping things apart, killing and maiming.
Luckily, these are one-on-one battles, so you have a chance to remember all you’ve learned about tracking and destroying man-killing wild animals. Never fear; if you survive, you will take the additional knowledge and skills with you for the next encounter. You’ll run across some trophy big-game animals in-between; it’s okay to pursue them along the way. Just don’t lose sight of the mission: destroying the beasts gone wild.
Activision developed and published the game, so it is obvious you are going to have realistic scenery, location, and game. The Wii Special Edition offers cel-shaded animation mode, intensifying the action. Cabelas Dangerous Hunts 2011 is multi-player, giving you the opportunity to prove to your friends that you are the best.
Be sure to purchase the new top shot Elite Firearm, which is sold separately, or in a combo. It features pump-action reloading, an adjustable stock, and a red lens scope to uncover vital clues. If you are still in doubt about this game, watch the trailer here.
Ranging from sixty to eighty dollars, the special edition combo is cheaper than a hunting license and the fee for a tag draw. You also have the comfort of knowing that you will be able to enjoy the game, which is open season year-round.
The game is available through Cabelas, Gamestop, andAmazon.
Ultimate Duck Hunt
Not in to big game hunting? Do you have more trophies than you have room for already? Try duck hunting, which is not as easy in real life as it looks. It is much more fun on the Wii Ultimate Duck Hunt Bundle with Wii Blaster, ranging from forty to forty-five dollars, and available through Gander Mountain and Gamespot.
Developed by Mid Carolina Media and published by Detn8, this hunting video game was published in December 2007. Like any hunting video, it is rated Teen (mild violence). Ultimate Duck Hunt offers a multi-player mode to allow competition with a friend on a split screen.
Again, we’re looking at realistic areas to hunt in; there is a choice of six locales. The most important goal of the game is to successfully train your dog so you stand a chance of winning. Dogs have no clue whose shot sent the mallard, hen, black or teal duck plummeting to earth, and they will fight for possession. Thus, it is important that the dogs know the rules and understand commands, reacting quickly to their owners.
The gamer can train his or her own hunting dog. Choose from a yellow, chocolate or black Labrador retriever. Think of a name for your new pet. Realizing what you save in dog chow, vet bills, and license fees makes this game seem dirt-cheap. Then hug your real dog, whom you would not trade, regardless of cost.
North American Hunting Extravaganza
Since your hunting buddy is running around the Ugandan Wilderness saving people left and right, you are stuck at home wondering what to do. Good news! Destineer created the Wii North American Hunting Extravaganza Bundle, for one to four players, at about eighty dollars. Familiarize yourself with the 3-guns-in-one Sureshot Rifle. Stay entertained and up to par by hunting game across North America until your buddy returns. Released in November 2008, it carries the usual ESRB rating of Teen, due to the violence of hunting.
Three regions in North America have been singled out and taken over by over twenty species. Because of the ecological imbalance, this continent is looking to you to put things back the way they should be. Using shotguns, crossbows, and rifles, among other weaponry, put down the chaotic mountain lions, grizzly bears, and even an outsized whitetail deer or two. For succeeding in your mission, you can buy or earn new guns, bows, binoculars, scents, scopes, and other equipment.
The Sureshot Rifle requires Wiimote and Nunchuck, and is compatible with nearly all Wii shooting games. The functioning rifle trigger controls the remote from the outside. The stock and barrel are removable.
North American Hunting Extravaganza was at Gamestop, where a number of used, as well as new, video games can be found. It is also available online through Gander Mountain.
Good luck and good hunting!
