Indiana is known for race cars, basketball, and being the “Crossroads of America”, so what could children possibly find to do in Indiana? Well, if water parks are interesting to them, there are three choices in Indiana for the little tykes to enjoy. Abe Martin Lodge, Big Splash Adventure, and Buccaneer Bay are all located in Indiana and all offer plenty of water play for young and old alike.
Abe Martin Lodge is located in Nashville, Indiana inside the Brown County State Park. This lodge is known for having great lodging for families and in the last few years the owners made it an even better find for families by adding a 12,000 square foot aquatic center. This center includes a water slide, water channel, fountains, water volleyball and basketball along with a whirlpool with a waterfall and a zero entry pool. Kids will love the splashing that they can find here.
Big Splash Adventure is located in French Lick, Indiana as part of the Valley of the Spring Resort. Big Splash will be a hit with kids as they play in the 40,000 square foot indoor water park. This water park sits within an enclosed glass structure to allow for play even in the winter. The great thing about this park is that in the summer time the retractable roof can be opened and allow the sunshine and heat to come into the pool area as well. While the kids are enjoying all of the water fun here, parents can venture into Palm Cove, a reserved area where they are away for the children to relax and have fun on their own.
Finally, Buccaneer Bay is located in Lafayette, Indiana and is the family fun spot that kids will be glad to go to. This is Lafayette’s only indoor water park and thrills can be found on the 23 foot slide, the kiddie pool, the arcade, or the hot tub. Located inside the Best Western hotel they offer affordable rooms and overnight room packages for guests to take advantage of.
Indiana’s indoor water parks offer water fun in warm and inviting places even when the temperature outside says that you should be dressed in winter coats and snow boots. Family fun can be found in many places, but most kids will enjoy spending time with their family when water play is involved.
