The Indianapolis Colts travel to play the Denver Broncos in Invesco Field September 26th. The game shapes up to be a battle of wits between Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos defense. Manning has carved up the Denver Broncos in the past and it could be a repeat performance in this game if they can’t get their running game in gear.
Passing Attack of Indianapolis Colts Against the Denver Broncos Is Not Much of Match
Peyton Manning has shown no signs of slowing down for the Indianapolis Colts and the Denver Broncos will not be the team that can slow him down. Manning should have an average game for him. 300 yards and three touchdowns on the road from the visiting quarterback will usually result in a victory if the Indianapolis Colts defense can hold the line.
Kyle Orton has grown to become more than just a serviceable quarterback for the Denver Broncos. Orton has shown he does have skills to play in the NFL but he will be tested in this game against a stronger and faster defense in the Indianapolis Colts. Orton has his rookie wide receiver DeMaryius Thomas back in the lineup and he was his favorite target last weekend. Passing attack goes to the Indianapolis Colts.
Running Game of Indianapolis Colts & Denver Broncos Have Been Inconsistent
Knoshown Moreno, the Denver Broncos young running back struggled to get on line until last weekend when he showed signs of life. The Denver Broncos will have to get the ball on the ground and eat clock to keep Peyton Manning off the field and out of sync. Look for the rotation of Brian Westbrook and Moreno to be carrying the ball early and often. With Bob Sanders out of the lineup for the Indianapolis Colts defense, they are susceptible to the run.
The Indianapolis Colts made a statement in their game against the New York Giants by running the ball relentlessly to start the game. It was a statement the Colts made to make sure the rest of the NFL knew they could be committed to the run if the need would arise. The Denver Broncos running game has the edge over the Indianapolis Colts.
