Where I live is two small towns away from Darby Township, but Darby Creek actually runs straight through my town. It is actually directly across the street from my house. After my article earlier and sending son off to school I had fallen asleep. I was woken up by the roar of the creek, so I went down to investigate. The far end of my road is closed because the creek had actually covered the whole thing. Our end of the street stayed safe because there is a large park between us and the creek .
I took some pictures and will follow with a slideshow, but I wanted to update on Darby Township first. I spoke to a friend who lives on the further end of Darby Township and they are fine. Not so for the middle of town though. Darby is shaped kind of like a basin. Where the large bridge is, which is now completely under water almost seems like it will never fully recover from flooding. Everytime they get it finished, another flood hits. When Hurricane Floyed hit years ago, my ex-husbands body shop located then in Darby Township, two stories high, was completely covered by water.
