The Target store in Bossier City Louisiana has an amazing selection of infant and child toys! My daughter and I spent about an hour there searching for toys that are appropriate for infants. Until now, the only other store that carried the types of infant toys I wanted was Toys R Us.
I purchased my granddaughter a Sassy rattle, and while she is now able to hold it on her own, she banged herself in the head with it the last time she used it. When my daughter pointed out the Infantino Wrap Around Rattles, I agreed that these would be great for infants!
Infantino Wrap Around Rattles come in packages of two, and they consist of cotton bands with Velcro closures so you can fit these onto an infants wrist. The band itself is filled with material that makes a crinkly sound as you touch it. On top of the band is a small stuffed animal head, measuring about 2 inches in diameter. We have the monkey head and the lion head.
Inside the animal heads are small beads that rattle when you move or shake the Infantino Wrap Around Rattles. The heads of these animals have no small parts that could come off and pose a choking hazard, the facial features are embroidered on, and are very cute and colorful.
Packaging states that the Infantino Wrap Around Rattles are appropriate for children 0+ months old, and they can be used on “wrists, ankles, car seats, infant gyms, and more!” The fabric tag reveals that the filling consists of polyester fiber and cellophane. It must be the cellophane that makes the crinkly sound. The tag also tells you how to wash these wrist rattles, which is to surface wash only. They cannot be washed in a washing machine or immersed in water, and they have to be air dried after washing with a damp sponge or cloth.
Not only do the Infantino Wrap Around Rattles stimulate an infant by their soft rattling and crinkly sounds, but they also appeal to their visual senses since they are made with striking, contrasting colors like black and white, orange and red, yellow and blue, red and white.
Infants can’t do a lot of communicating. They cry, and they move their hands and legs because these are about all they are capable of doing until they start to roll over or creep. When a baby moves his hands around furiously, these Infantino Wrap Around Rattles cam grab their attention! It’s fun to watch infants when they have one of these on their wrists, they get curious and often just stop what they are doing and stare at the object that is now a projection of their bodies!
If you are looking for a soft rattle for your infant, one that won’t hurt them if they accidentally hit themselves with it, then the Infantino Wrap Around Rattles might be a good choice for you!
Infantino is a company based in San Diego, California, but the hang tag that these rattles were attached to does state that they are made in China.
