The Bible is the most inspirational book of all times. It is the manual with which we live our lives. Many articles and inspirational books derive their content from the Bible. Out of the Bible, I have pinpointed a couple of verses that inspire me through different episodes of life, and grouped them into three broad categories. The first group addresses the issue of eternal life, the second talks about the promises of God and lastly, the third group focuses on encouragement especially in times of trials and tribulations.
Eternal life is an issue of many concerned Christians. Jesus Christ speaks of eternity as a place of worship, a place of one on one fellowship with the Father; He refers to it as a house with many rooms, with banquets served at your service, as angels and elders bow continuously praising God. Five of my most inspiration verses are; John 3:16, that says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life”. 1st John 5:20 say, And we know that the Son of God has come, and has given us understanding, that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is true God and eternal life. Psalms 23:6 says, surely, goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Psalms 49:15 says, But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave, for He shall receive me. John 11:25 – 26 says, Jesus said to her, “I am the way the truth and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live, And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?”
The promises of God are in abundance. In particular, there are approximately 32,000 promises that God made each with its own perspective. He makes good of His promises. The book of Numbers 23:19 assure us that God is above man. It says, God is not man that He should lie, nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good? Philippians 4:19 says, And my god shall supply all your needs, according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. II Corinthians 12:9 says, And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my strength is made perfect in weakness.” Romans 8:28 says, And we all know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. John 10:27 – 28 says, My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish, neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand.
God has always shown up when I need Him most, when combating the fears that deny us the joy of the Lord, He has always come through for us. One of the most inspiring verses is, Isaiah 58:11 says, The Lord will guide you continually, and satisfy your soul, in draught, and strengthen your bones; You shall be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail. Isaiah 41:10 says Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand. Psalms 147:3 says, He heals the brokenhearted, and binds up their wounds. Ephesians 4:1 -2 says, I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing one another in love. Ecclesiastes 7: 8 – 9 says, The end of a thing is better than its beginning; the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit, do not hasten in your spirit to be angry, for anger rests in the bosom of fools.
