When you’re a young adult and things seem confusing in your life, you may think there is no where to turn for support or no one can understand what your going through. Have faith in God that he can hear you and will undoubtedly listen to your prayers. Here I have collected my favorite inspirational bible verses for young adults.
Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity.
1 Timothy 4:12 NIV
In this passage it’s clear that the words are telling you to remain vigilant in your beliefs. Set an example for your peers to follow instead of following in the footsteps of those on the wrong path. Never let anyone tell you that what you know in God is not the truth. Live your life fully with virtue, compassion, love and understanding. Be pure and abstain from temptations.
Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the LORD your God is giving you.
Exodus 20:12 NIV
Be respectful to your parents always. Even when you feel like they couldn’t possibly get what your going through, remain calm and understanding in the fact that they only wish you well and hope for you to grow into a successful adult. Even if it doesn’t seem that way now.
So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Isaiah 41:10 NIV
When you are feeling down and depressed, if you are feeling scared of doing something new that you are nervous about, believe in God and tell him in prayer what is wrong and he will make it right. Let him be your strength, power and motivation!
He who guards his mouth and his tongue
keeps himself from calamity.
Proverbs 21:23 NIV
High school has to be the most stressful time of a young persons life. The temptations, the pressure to fit in and an array of other things that make it a difficult time for them. In this passage we learn that those that do not try and stay out of trouble by causing it, joining into it or other wise having anything to do with fights, talking back, and not trying to be a good student and good person will undoubtedly get into problems.
Young men, in the same way be submissive to those who are older. All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because, “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings.”
1 Peter 5:5-9 NIV
When you are living your life as a humble, compassionate, understanding person then good will come to you in all you do. Be careful of temptations around you because these are the works of the devil. Be careful and be aware of all your actions and decisions. This is a time of your life that you get only one chance to make the choices that will lead to the rest of your adult life. Choose wisely.
