Today we have with us, Elizabeth Loraine, the author of the Royal Blood Chronicles. The Royal Blood Chronicles tell the story of Katrina and her sisters, the Protectors. She chronicles the journeys of Katrina, a young royal blooded vampire and the chosen leader of the Five, the protectors of all races- witches, elves, and much much more. There is evil all around them and she is called upon to save us all.
So, here is the first part of the interview with Ms. Loraine.
Question: Tell us how you became a writer?
Answer: I always had in the back of my mind that I should write a book. I just didn’t know about what. But after raising my kids and retiring from a career as a decorative painter. I decided that I had time to explore writing; even though I had no formal training and it had been a very long time since English class. My parents always told me, just try, you can do anything you set your mind on. So, I thought, what the heck. The worst thing that could happen is that it would stink and I won’t let anyone else read it.
Question: How did you come about writing books and what made you choose vampire books?
Answer: I really decided on vampires because I love them, I always have. From Bell Lugosi to Bella Swan, but after reading most what’s out there I got bored. I wanted to know more than the modern high school vampire books were offering me.
What had these long lived vampires been doing? What had they seen throughout history and how had it changed the way they saw the world around them. This was a niche I thought I could fill. Something different – a new vampire series, filled with a different Vampire. Vampires as a race, are not the usual undead, soulless beings. They’ve seen it all and found a way to not only survive, but thrive. Hiding in plain sight! And Royal Blood Chronicles was born. This series follows the Royal Blooded old world vampires trying to make the transition to the new world.
