They came from outside;
Marching two by two.
More and more of them came,
And I didn’t know what to do.
I’m talking about ants.
Little black ants first entered my house.
Next came the Carpenter ants that frightened my spouse.
They crawled on the floor.
They crawled on the walls.
They were in my bedroom,
They were in my halls.
I set some ant traps to rid myself of these pests.
They just mocked me and stayed as my unwelcome guests.
I’m hoping that they’ll leave this winter,
But the ants just shake and dance.
“Please leave my home,” I beg them.
And the ants reply, “Not a chance.”
