Iron Bowl 2010 coverage has not been positive for Auburn so far. Iron Bowl 2010 has Alabama beating Auburn, with the week 14 BCS standings possibly getting a huge shift at the top. This Alabama vs. Auburn game was supposed to just be a big test to the Auburn Tigers on their way to the 2010 SEC Championship Game next week, but instead it is shaping up to be a huge upset in their schedule that could potentially keep them out of the BCS Championship Game this year. Alabama is playing like the team that won the whole thing last season, and much like the team that voters thought that they would be this season.
At the end of the first quarter, the score is Alabama 21 – Auburn 0.
In the first quarter alone, Alabama quarterback Greg McElroy went 10-10 in passing, throwing for 163 yards and two touchdowns to give Alabama a huge lead. Meanwhile, Auburn quarterback Cam Newton finished that first quarter with just one pass attempt and zero yards. The rushing attack wasn’t much better for the Tigers, as they finished with negative yards on eight carries. Heading into the second quarter, it was quite clear that the Auburn Tigers and their fans should be extremely worries, because everything was going right for the Alabama offense.
If Auburn ends up losing to Alabama, it will drop them to 11-1 overall, with just the 2010 SEC Championship Game left to play. A win for Alabama would put them up in the top 10 in the polls, but it could also lead to both teams watching the BCS National Championship Game from home. Oregon, TCU, and Boise State are all still undefeated, holding a distinct advantage over Auburn and the SEC champion should the Iron Bowl 2010 result end up badly for the Tigers.
