TMZ is reporting that Mel Gibson is now out of ‘The Hangover 2’, thanks to the hangover effect of his horrible language. Apparently Zach Galifianakis is one of the cast members who protested most to Mel Gibson having a cameo in the film, and there was enough pressure to make director Todd Phillips nix his role. But why would Zach Galifianakis and the rest of the cast protest to Mel Gibson’s role as a tattoo artist in ‘The Hangover 2’ when they worked with convicted rapist Mike Tyson the last time around?
Well, the first Hangover film didn’t get a whole lot of attention before it was released, so hardly anyone even took notice that Mike Tyson had a small role in the movie. However, since it became such a big success, everyone that enjoyed the first film is paying attention to what’s going on with the casting of ‘The Hangover 2’, including those close to the cast and crew. According to TMZ, the actors involved in the movie were actually fine with Mel Gibson being cast in the movie; it was when their friends started putting pressure on them that they spoke out against Mel Gibson having a part. So why was Zach Galifianakis one of the most outspoken against it? No word on that yet, but perhaps Zach Galifianakis and Mel Gibson just need to sit down between two ferns and talk things out (and if Zach Galifianakis is uneasy talking to Mel Gibson, he could always talk to his beaver puppet instead).
And so that leaves Mel Gibson relying on his role in Jodie Foster’s ‘The Beaver’ to revive his career (Good luck with that). Anyway, since Mel Gibson is out, Todd Phillips needs a new cameo role in ‘The Hangover 2’. So the big question now is: who should fill in for Mel Gibson? Well, his character was supposed to be a tattoo artist, so perhaps another shunned man with a love of tattoos, Jesse James, could fill in. It could also be cool to see his fling Kat Von D, who actually has some tattooing talent, have a cameo role, as long as she actually tattoos one of the cast members for real on camera.
It was also reported that Todd Phillips had once considered trying to get Tiger Woods to make an appearance in ‘The Hangover 2’ in place of the boring real tiger in the last movie, and it could be pretty epic if Todd Phillips managed that one. Give Tiger Woods an entourage of well-known mistresses that includes the likes of Lindsay Lohan and have the Cigar Guy hiding somewhere in the background, and that would be even better.
Isaiah Mustafa on a horse would also make a great option, and I’m sure there are plenty of other has-beens (Gary Busey, perhaps?) and shunned stars out there that Todd Phillips could surprise us with that Zach Galifianakis and the rest of the cast could get along with (just one request: no more Betty White, please!).
