The entertainment shows were all excited about the fact that Sarah Palin was floating around the set of Dancing with the Stars this week as daughter Bristol practiced and got ready for her performance. Yet, the show itself did not suffer. The show was still filled with dancing, laughter, stern judgments, applause and nervous jitters as each dancer waited for their score.
Did ABC go overboard in announcing the fact that Sarah Palin was in the audience? No, ABC itself did not make any big announcement. The announcement was made by Sarah Palin herself during interviews on entertainment shows.
She did sit normally in the crowd, just as the other mothers did. The cameras did land on her off and on throughout the show, just as they landed on many celebrities and non-celebrities alike. This is one reason why many fans would have been happier if she would have sat off to the sidelines, out camera view all together.
However midway through the show, host Tom Burgeon went over to Sarah Palin and asked her what she thought of the judges and who she thought was the best dancer so far. Since her daughter hadn’t danced yet, she didn’t seem to know what to say. She said Bristol hadn’t danced yet and said “Bristol the pistol”. Many fans may object to this part of the show.
Yet, the Dancing With The Stars is not supposed to be about Sarah Palin. It is suppose to be about the dancing.
