Jesse Jackson Jr. Illinois Congressmen says he is sorry for having a relationship with Giovana Huidobro. Giovana Huidbro is a hostess at Ozio, which is in Washington D.C. and is a cigar and martini lounge. Jesse Jackson Jr. stated, “The reference to a social acquaintance is a private and personal matter between me and my wife that was handled some time ago. I ask that you respect our privacy. I know I have disappointed some supporters, and for that I am deeply sorry. But I remain committed to my constituents and fighting on their behalf.”
Sources have said that Nayak told authorities that Jackson asked him to pay for Giovana Huidobro to visit him and that he did so not once but twice. Some might say that having a relationship while you are married and in politics that when this type of situation occurs, it will usually be found out with in no time flat.
Jesse Jackson Jr. and his relation outside of marriage was not one that should be aired for the entire world to see. It is a private and personal matter just as he stated. However, when you are well known as he is, that situation will eventually come out and possibly ruin your political career. That leaves the question why do men or women for that matter do this type of thing? I guess one will never find out until you’re faced with that situation.
Jesse Jackson Jr. woke to leaks reported to the Sun Times that a political fundraiser named Raghuveer Nayak told federal authorities Jackson directed him to offer former Gov. Rod Blagojevich six million in campaign cash. In exchange for this money he would receive an appointment for Jackson to the U.S. Senate to succeed President Obama.
Jesse Jackson said in a written statement that, “The allegations about fundraising and the Senate seat are not new. I’ve already talked with the authorities about these claims, told them they were false, and no charges have been bought against me. The very idea of raising millions of dollars for a campaign other than my own is preposterous. My interest in the Senate seat was based on years of public service, which I am proud of, not some improper scheme with anyone.”
If what Jesse Jackson Jr. is saying is true then people should not wonder or criticize him. However if it is true he should be punished just as anyone else who walks the streets.
Even if Jessie Jackson Jr. says he’s sorry for his social acquaintance with Giovana Huidobro, it should have never happened.
