When you hear Judy, Judy, Judy, one of two things comes to mind….Cary Grant or Goober impersonating Cary Grant. Did you know that Cary Grant never actually said “Judy, Judy, Judy” in a movie, but he did say “Susan, Susan, Susan” in Bringing Up Baby.
Anyhoo, what starts with J in a bad, sad or cad word? Jerk comes to mind. I can’t stand a jerk. Have you ever noticed that no one hardly ever describes a woman as a jerk? They have another word for that, but jerk is usually reserved for a guy. A guy who is foolish, rude, and small-minded.
Jackass is another J word that could also be described by the aforementioned definition. My final J word is Judgmental, one who judges harshly. You’ve heard of a judgmental prig. Synonym for prig = jerk, jackass.. They all go together.
Happy, good, heart-warming J words. Looking up and down my street, I’d have to say Jack-o-Lantern. Even the scary looking ones still emit a warm and friendly glow from the candles within.
Second J that comes to mind….Jinglebells! I love the picture that conjures up…a one horse open sleigh, or as my son used to sing it, “a one Orse-hopen sleigh”… Snow falling, people laughing, good cheer. Yes, I do love Christmas!
And, of course, I can’t think of Christmas without thinking of the #1 J word…Jesus, the reason for the season. I do love this time of year, from the yellow, red, and orange leaves crunching under the feet of little trick or treaters to the smell of turkey on the Thansgiving table surrounded by family and friends taking time to remember what they’re thankful for, opening up the Christmas season when everyone seems a little friendlier. Christmas carols, Christmas plays, Baby Jesuses in Mangers, children anxiously waiting for Santa Claus.
Oh, if it could only last! But, alas, it all gets replaced by one of the yucky J words! Yep, I’m really not too fond of the dreaded January! Let me be the first to wish each of you a wonderful Holiday
Season! Joy, joy, joy!!
